DESCRIPTION
Identify opportunities for improvement. Identify, experiment with, and adapt technologies that can better serve the infrastructure. Provide technical expertise and direct support for the planning, coordination, upgrade, improvement, and implementation of systems and infrastructure/application software. Provide regular management updates on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation. Anticipate, gather, and accommodate infrastructure requirements from stakeholders. Perform requirements gathering and system analysis by going through the functional documents, legacy online application and discussing with the application owners. Execute project and on demand implementation tasks. Participate in day-to-day process and service optimization, issue discovery and remediation, along with membership in a rotating on-call schedule. Provide cross-team deployment and administrative support for services including systems integration. Configure, install, maintain, apply patches/fix and troubleshoot physical and logical tiers of applications/software/systems. Design integrated build pipelines using continuous integration workflows such as Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, SAP, and Agile. Write Chef cookbooks to manage the infrastructure environment. Ensure Cybersecurity standards are met and maintained. Deploy cyber security software on the host. Participate in all security processes, including security patching and auditing, security remediation, and disaster recovery operations. Act on alerts and participate in managing issues assigned via ticket queue(s). Monitor system logs and system performance using Icinga, LogicMonitor, PagerDuty, Graylog, Splunk. Troubleshoot issues related to local user accounts, network issues, and memory issues, and service user requests through Jira. Provide support for the tickets created by application for various issues through Jira. Implement change on demand, and/or via planned activities. Handle activities related to process management like change management to perform code deployment and incident management. Design configurations to provide capacity planning and performance monitoring/tuning of systems. Identify and eliminate obsolete/outdated technology. Make recommendations, justify, and implement improvements using an accepted change control methodology. Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation. Stay up-to-date on application enhancements and upgrades, and ensure the health of applications and integrations. Mentor other team members, collaborate with internal stakeholders and colleagues, and engage vendors for procurement and support. Communicate regularly with the team through group meetings and individual sessions, ensure issues/input from team is listened to and that organization/department strategy/goals/decisions are communicated consistently and in a timely manner. Train, supervise, and develop technical teams. Engage hardware and software vendors for support, licensing and new procurement. Includes working in the Fremont, CA area up to 4 times per week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable), plus 5 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience with enterprise server administration. This must include: Five (5) years of experience with/in: Administration of Dell hardware, Linux, Windows, and VMware; application servers (Apache and Tomcat); database systems including, Oracle, MongoDB, Microsoft SQ, and Cassandra; Jira and SAP; networking concepts, primarily Cisco switching and routing, firewalls; LogicMonitor; technical administration and troubleshooting of applications; Veritas NetBackup; and security tools, such as F5 Load Balancing, and Infoblox. Three (3) years of experience with/in: scripting servers; building and maintaining globally distributed application systems in a team environment using ServiceNow, Confluence, and Agile; Cloud-based application deployment, including Icinga, PagerDuty, Graylog, and Splunk; troubleshooting of applications, such as Chef, Terraform, Tanium, and Microsoft WSUS; big data storage environments, such as NetApp and EMC storage arrays. $183,310/per year per year, M-F, 40 hours/week.
